Indoor trick or treating Metro Detroit 2022 – Shopping malls in Metro Detroit that offer indoor trick or treating on Halloween night. Bad weather on Halloween? Or, maybe you’d like to take your kids trick-or-treating in a safe, well-lit environment? Either way, you can’t go wrong with indoor or shopping mall trick or treating.

Mall trick or treating was the rage when I was a kid. It became popular to have local malls like Oakland Mall, Eastland, and Lakeside Mall offer trick or treating in a tradition that started in the 80s. It was great for moms to take the little ones if the weather was poor, and the malls enjoyed the extra foot traffic as the stores hoped the moms would shop at their store while the kids sought candy. Plus, the poison paranoia surrounding Halloween trick or treating was at an all-time high and the malls seemed like a safer alternative for parents.

Indoor trick or treating in Metro Detroit is starting to go the way of the DoDo bird but… there are a few places you can take the kids on Halloween for indoor trick or treat Halloween fun.
