Innovation Hills Christmas Lights

The holiday lights are on nightly from 5p-7p Mondays through Thursdays and 5p-8p on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from December 1, 2024 through January 15, 2025.

Take a festive holiday stroll around the 1-mile boardwalk / path to enjoy the Innovation Hills Christmas lights. The City of Rochester Hills does an excellent job keeping the boardwalk and the cement path clear (and well-lit). Follow the boardwalk to HUGE Christmas Tree (The Giant Wishing Tree). Along the way, you can admire the LED tunnel over the bridge and colored LED lights on the tinier trees along the path. Enjoy this great photo-op.

There is also a neat, holiday story along the trail at certain check points or stations. Each station has a new page of the book and it’s a fun journey to get to the end of the book. SPOILER ALERT – the book is about the Innovation Hills Park holiday lights themselves! I won’t spoil the ending. The story is a nice reminder to soak in the holiday festiveness and makes for a fun stroll with any children who may get antsy.

Innovation Hills Holiday Lights Events

The City of Rochester Hills has been hosting holiday lights at their crown jewel park, Innovation Hills, for the past 2 holiday seasons. In addition to the lights, the City hosts special events at the park on select nights. For 2024, they’re hosting a RARA Recreation Movie Night on December 6, and a Caroling Night on December 13. They also host free giveaways every weekend in December to the first 200 people.

Innovation Hills Park hours are 8a-7p Monday-Friday and 8a-8p Friday-Sunday. If the parking lot is full, parking is available in the rustic parking lot across the street and a crosswalk with flashing lights is available to walk to the park.
