Fire and Ice Rochester FireworksSince many covid restrictions have been lifted since 2021, we at OCM have assumed that Fire and Ice would return with more activities and family fun for 2022. Sadly this is not the case. Fire and Ice was always a collaboration between the Downtown Rochester DDA and Oakland County Parks. To our knowledge, the Downtown Rochester DDA supplied the location (Downtown area, Big Bright Light Show, food trucks contracts) and Oakland County Parks provided the help (volunteers) to host the numerous recreational events (including fireworks).

Now, again to our knowledge, it appears that Oakland County Parks won’t be providing any support to Fire and Ice so the DDA is bravely going it alone by hosting Snowglow. We salute the DDA for hosting an awesome event with FIREWORKS, ice sculptures, downtown shipping, Big Bright Light Show, and family fun without the support of our County government. Sure, it’s not quite as big or as involved as Fire & Ice, but I salute the local DDAs and Parks & Rec departments who are really battling to bring us live events and family fun. We’re really looking forward to Snowglow!
