You’d be surprised at how many times people have asked us through the years if any businesses in the area have etiquette classes or courses for children to learn proper manners. Our friends at Oakland County Community College hosted a 1-day Manners Camp back in March and asked us to promote it. Wouldn’t you know it? It sold out FAST.
Is learning manners COOL if you’re a child ages 8-12 on summer vacation? I’m not sure, but we think it is.

Everyone loves the new outdoor roller skating rink at Stine Park in Troy and now our friends at Troy Recreation are offering lessons for adults & kids at any skating level. Roller Skating Lessons, Roller Dance, and Roller Fitness classes for residents and non-residents alike. 1 hr classes last 2 sessions for ages 5 and up are divided by age (adults / teens / children).

Before summer bike rides begin, give your child a fun, hands-on way to learn safe bicycling habits at Mi-Sci on May 31 or June 28. Bicycle Safety Town is a free event open to kids ages 7 to 9 with advance registration. Young riders learn the rules of the road before testing their knowledge and skills on a COOL simulated street environment.

We have a wealth of incredible birthday party places in the area, but they can expensive FAST. Many of us can’t afford a HUGE party for 10+ kids (plus the adults) at LEGOLAND or Slick City.
