Wayne County Lightfest 2026 / Admission Info
The annual Wayne County Lightfest is in its 33rd season and is in many ways the originator of all the other “drive-through” holiday lights shows you see around Metro Detroit (and the country). Lightfest is hosted each year by Wayne County Parks & Recreation.
Lightfest is open from Wednesdays through Sundays from 6p-10p from November 19 through December 24. Lightfest is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but will make an exception for December 21 and December 22, 2026.
Wayne County Lightfest costs just $5 to drive through. Rates are higher for limousines & RVs ($20), party busses ($25), and large busses / more than 40 passengers ($50). Lightfest is CASH ONLY. Pre-paid tickets can be purchased with cash, check or Visa/Mastercard or over the phone with a credit card by calling (734) 261-1990 and tickets will be mailed to you. Please note that tickets purchased in person at the Lightfest are the same price.
Toy Nights, an initiative that allows visitors to donate a new, unwrapped toy in lieu of paying the entrance fee, will take place on December 2 and December 9.
Due to popularity of the Hines Park Christmas lights, traffic can be heavy at times. For this, Wayne County offers radio alerts by tuning into AM 1640 during Lightfest hours.
Wayne County Lightfest 2026 Events
In addition to the drive-thru holidays display at Hines Park, Lightfest has grown to host many events through the seasons.
New for 2025 – There will be an expanded food truck area featuring food trucks at Perrin Park, which is halfway through the show. There are also restrooms at Perrin Park and a large Santa’s mailbox.

Participate in your own bike parade at Bike Through the Lights. The first 500 registered participants will receive a 2026 Lightfest hat, bike light and post event snacks. Registration info & fees info at Wayne County Parks & Recreation.

Westland Christmas Events – Wayne County Lightfest LIGHTS ON Holiday Ceremony

The ceremony will be held at Merriman Hollow Park, which is located at 7651 N. Merriman Road in Westland. There will be musical entertainment, a visit from Santa Claus, refreshments, and fireworks to kick off the 2026 Wayne County Lightfest. Wayne County Parks & Recreation.
