Wayne County Lightfest 2024
The annual Wayne County Lightfest is in its 31st season and is in many ways the originator of all the other “drie-through” holiday lights shows you see around Metro Detroit (and the country). Lightfest is hosted each year by Wayne County Parks & Recreation.
Lightfest is open from Wednesdays through Sundays from 6p-10p from November 21 through December 24. Lightfest is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but will make an exception for December 23 and December 24, 2024.
Wayne County Lightfest costs just $5 to drive through. Rates are higher for limousines & RVs($20), party busses ($25), and large busses / more than 40 passengers ($50). Lightfest is CASH ONLY. Tickets CAN be pre-purchased in cash at the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center in Westland between the hours of 1p-4p Mondays through Fridays. You can also purchase pre-paid tickets over the phone with a credit card by calling 734-261-1900 (tickets will be snail-mailed to your address).
Due to popularity of the Hines Park Christmas lights, traffic can be heavy at times. For this, Wayne County offers radio alerts by tuning into AM 1640 during Lightfest hours.

In addition to the drive-thru holidays display at Hines Park, Lightfest has grown to host many events through the seasons.
New for 2024 – There will be an expanded food truck area featuring food trucks at Perrin Park, which is halfway through the show. There are also restrooms at Perrin Park and a large Santa’s mailbox.

Participate in your own bike parade at Bike Through the Lights. The first 500 registered participants will receive a 2024 Lightfest hat, bike light and post event snacks. Registration info & fees info at Wayne County Parks & Recreation.

Westland Christmas Event – Lightfest 8k Run / Walk

See the Wayne County Lightfest in a whole new way by running or walking the route. The first 1,000 participants will receive a 2024 Lightfest hat, Lightfest 2024 medal, transportation back to the start line provided by SMART and post event snacks.
