Red Oaks Nature Center Maple Magic – Maple syrup is an icon of our region. Learn to identify maple trees, take a hike to tap a tree and taste the sap. We will teach you the tools, tips and methods needed to make your own batch of maple syrup at home. Taste some sweet maple treats and take home maple-based recipes. Some tasty treats may be made in factories that process nut products. This program is suitable for all ages. Cost: $7/person. Call 248-858-0916 weekdays to register. Spring Fling Egg Hunt – Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 4:45p (toddler egg hunt) through 9p – six 45-min time slots available. (flashlight egg hunt for tweens & teens)
Grab eggs and hunt for the golden ones, then turn them in for treats. Mr Bunny will be there, so bring your camera and a basket to carry your goodies. A petting farm and train ride will be available at the event too. Check-in a half hour before your registration time. The hunt begins promptly at the scheduled time on your receipt and all eggs are usually found within 10 minutes. This event will go rain or shine. Red Oaks Nature Center Morning Munchkins – Story-time fun for preschool children. Bring your munchkin to the nature center for a seasonal story and a related hands-on, nature-based discovery activity. Cost is $4/child. Call 248-858-0916 weekdays to register. West Bloomfield Marshbank Park Camp Out – at Marshbank Park. Enjoy fishing, a craft, tent decorating contest, nature hikes, campfire + s’mores, and more. You can purchase dinner from a food truck or pack a picnic. $10 resident / $12 non-resident. Pre-register here. Hosted by WB Parks.
Spencer Park Bass Tournament – The Park Bass Tournament is open to ALL AGES and SKILL LEVELS. All fishing is done from shore and there will be prizes for the most bass caught and also for the largest bass. Tournament participation is $5. Participants receive free park vehicle entry. Tollgate Farm Pumpkinfest at MSU Tollgate Farm. Take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. Many events FREE, some with small fees. Food, music, farm animals, educational exhibits, and children’s activities all make for a fun fall outing for all ages. $5 per person, 3 and under FREE.
