Cranberry Lake Park History of Maple Sugaring – at Cranberry Lake Park. Learn a little about how this treat was first discovered, the advancements in the technology that allowed us to harvest and produce enough for the world, and the science behind how this sticky confectionary is even possible. Sheep Shearing and Pancake Breakfast
Sheep Shearing and Pancake Breakfast – (248-674-5441, www.waterfordmi.gov)
Hosted by Waterford Parks & Recreation. Enjoy the farm animals, make & take craft, the annual sheep shearing, and a pancake breakfast. Admission is FREE but donations are being accepted to benefit the park/farm. Pancake breakfast cost is $5 for 10 & under and $8 for ages 11+.
Red Oaks Nature Center Homeschool Series
Red Oaks Nature Center Homeschool Series (248-585-0100) A new homeschool theme each month. Homeschool sessions are adapted for two age groups: Ages 6-9 and ages 10-13.
Cost is $10/child/session. Preregistration with payment is required by calling 248-858-0916 weekdays or online. No on-site registration will be available. Sessions are designed as a drop-off program for youth. All students are welcome. Hosted by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.
