Westland MLK Celebration and Remembrance Walk – The City will start with a remembrance walk to commemorate his life and legacy followed by our annual ceremony to express how Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had inspired us, what his message means to us, and to help inspire people to continue with his message and help make the world a more inclusive and righteous place for us and our children to live in. Rochester Hills MLK Day Snowfort & Campfire
Rochester Hills MLK Day Snowfort & Campfire – Come dressed for the weather and ready towork and build an igloo-style snow fort. No snow? No problem. Create a fort made from other natural materials instead. Deconstruct the fort at the end and talk a bit about “leaving no trace”. A campfire and hot chocolate will also be provided. Royal Oak Middle School MLK Jr Service
Royal Oak Middle School MLK Jr Service – The community is invited to gather at Royal Oak Middle School for a freedom walk and donation drive. The march steps off 10a. After walk, return to ROMS for more activities such as card making, blanket making, making hygiene kits, and sorting donations. Donations are accepted from 8:30 – Noon. West Bloomfield Earth Day Celebration – Come explore the Outdoor Natural Play Area and celebrate our
Earth with many activities including: Craft, live animals, free tree seedlings (while supplies last), guided nature hike, vendors, and more. This is a FREE event or $5/person if you partake in the Guided Hike. Proceeds benefit the Nature Room. This program will be indoors and outdoors so please dress for weather.
