Hockey Mentors for Special Olympians – Hockey Mentors offers an afternoon of free hockey and ice skating for individuals with any type of special needs, whether that is cognitive, physical or emotional, their family and caregivers. The family friendly event, taking place in two of the Troy Sports Center rinks, includes skate rental, hockey equipment, lunch, t-shirt for those skating and a jersey for guests trying out hockey. Huntington Woods Fire Prevention Week Events – Hay Day / Touch a Truck / Public Safety Open House. At Burton Field (Huntington Woods, MI 48070, 248-541-3030). FREE hay rides, refreshments, crafts, games, pony rides, a petting farm. Touch a Truck event until 5:30p. Families with special needs are invited to arrive at 3:30p. RARA Boo Bash – Come in your favorite or scariest costume. There will be prizes for best dressed, cider and donuts, bounce houses and a Halloween movie playing. RARA Pumpkin Roll – at Bloomer Park. Roll your old pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns down the big sled hill. Bring a wagon to haul your pumpkins to the sled hill. Targets will be setup at the bottom of the hill. If your pumpkin gets in the target or closest to the target, you will win a prize. Enjoy a bonfire and cider & donuts after the event. RARA Family Bingo Night – at Rochester Avon Recreation Authority. Head to RARA and join in for a fun family bingo event! Children of all ages are invited to attend. They will be playing 1 line bingo and every winner will get to choose a prize. The grand prize will be a RARA gift card to be used for future RARA programs. Cost is $25/family of 2 – 4 for residents and $30 for non-residents. Each additional family member past 4 members is $4 residents/$4.80 non-residents.
