Fireworks and Flannels 2025
The Inaugural Fireworks and Flannels event takes place at Waterford Oaks County Park in Waterford on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 3:30p-8:30p and features a 5K run, 1K run, live entertainment, beer tent, and FIREWORKS. This is the first major winter festival Oakland County Parks has been involved with since its involvement in the days of the Downtown Rochester Fire & Ice Festival and that was pre-covid.
This is also the first time in years that Oakland County Parks is hosting a major fireworks event outside of the annual July Oakland County Fair Event. You may remember that Oakland County used to host fireworks displays around the July 4th holiday every year at both of Addison Oaks and Groveland Oaks campgrounds but stopped hosting those in the early 2020s. When Oakland County Parks hosts fireworks, they tend to be awesome events! Here’s hoping the fireworks display at this event rivals the incredible ones from days past at Fire & Ice and the campground fireworks!

Race Info
All ages are welcome to participate. The race course will follow a beautiful, wooded trail that includes both paved and natural terrain surfaces. Each participant will receive a medal and T-shirt while supplies last. Cost is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the 1K. Bundle up for Fireworks and Flannels, an event that features a 1K/5K Flannel Fun Run, illuminated walking path, The Art Experience, general activities, food trucks, live entertainment, beer tent, horse drawn wagon rides and fireworks. Cost for the 1K Kids Run is $15 and 5K Fun Run/Walk is $25. All fun run participants receive a medal and a T-shirt while supplies last. Register here. Hosted by Oakland County Parks and Recreation. Waterford Weekend Events – Fireworks and Flannels Illuminated Trail
Waterford Oaks County Park (2800 Watkins Lake Rd., Waterford, Michigan 48328)
The beautiful illuminated trail featured at Fireworks and Flannels last weekend will have an extended run on weekends through March 2. Walk the path for free, in either direction, at Waterford Oaks County Park. The path stretches from Lookout Lodge to the volleyball courts. The bathrooms in Lookout Lodge will be open for guests. This is a paved path until it nears the sledding hill. Guests should take appropriate precautions for potential wintry conditions, such as snow or ice. Dogs are welcome on the path but must be on a leash not longer than 6 feet. Hosted by Oakland County Parks and Recreation. MORE INFO / SCHEDULE
