Per weather.com… The Metro Detroit Halloween Trick or Treat Weather Forecast calls for a high of 71 degrees on Thursday. For trick or treat times, look for the weather to cool into mid to high 60s with strong winds of nearly 20 miles per hour. There is a nearly 60% chance of showers. While there is a good chance of rain, the largest chance for showers comes well before most of the neighborhood trick or treating will begin! The rain chances drop significantly after 2p but the winds will still be gusty. At least it won’t be bone-chilling cold outside.
Regardless off weather, make sure to know the “suggested” trick or treat hours for your community. I’ve listed them below. Some communities don’t have concrete trick or treat hours and leave trick or treating to the discretion of those who pass out candy on Halloween. Some communities provide “recommended hours” for Halloween trick or treating and some provide a weather siren to kick off the festivities and another weather siren to commence the fun.

Mall trick or treating is a great option for parents of little ones for a few reasons. Kids & toddlers don’t have to stumble around in the darkness of night, go to strangers houses, or worry about a costume mishap or a fall from porch steps. Plus, the weather is always a comfortable 72 degrees! Sadly, for 2024… we can’t find any more malls that are hosting trick or treating indoors. The last one was Lakeside Mall in 2023 :(
