Come explore new sections of trail and scenic elements found within this seasonal variation of Glenlore Trails. The Witching Hour Haunted Forest is appropriate for all ages but the crowds tend to be more easy-going on the Thursday & Sunday earlier times. The entire event takes around 1 hr, depending on your speed of walking. Tickets are $25 for ages 13+, $15 for ages 4-12, FREE for kids under 3. All tickets purchased online only require a processing fee. Tickets are sold in 1/2 hour increments beginning at 7:30p with the last group time offered to purchase at 10p. Oakland County Haunted Houses REST IN PEACE
The following Oakland County haunted houses, hayrides and other haunted attractions have closed over the past few years and won’t be in operation for the Oakland County Haunted Houses Halloween season
- September 2013 – The Amazing Corn Maze Haunted Attractions and Corn Maze in Leonard won’t be featuring haunted attractions this year.
- Wojo’s Greenhouse in Ortonville had a Haunted Forest attraction for a couple of years to benefit St. Anne’s church but will not have a Haunted Forest this year.
- Lavin’s Flower Land Nursery operated Haunted Nursery for a few years to benefit local charities but will not be operating Haunted Nursery in Southfield this year.
- The 22 year tradition of Haunted Hayrides at Miller’s Big Red Orchard & Cider Mill appears to be over. I spoke to a representative today that confirmed Haunted Hayrides at Miller’s Big Red Orchard will NOT take place for 2012
- September 2013 – Haunted Hollows in Armada is not operating the popular haunted attraction for this year but may come back in the future.
- Nightmares for Hope Haunted House in Wolverine Lake operated a small haunted house attraction last season to benefit Autism research but an arson event has closed the attraction for good.
- October 2012 – Dementia Haunted Attraction at Hampton Golf Course in Rochester Hills, MI has closed its doors to concentrate on golf.
- October 2011 – The Haunted Castle in Beverly Hills, MI ceased operations in 2011. I was told they may re-open future Haunted Houses Metro Detroit seasons but they haven’t… yet.
- October 2015 – Ladd’s Evil Acres will not continue due to the passing of Owner Adam Ladd in 2014. Adam had always reached out to us in the past to list his haunted attraction and we at Oakland County Moms were very saddened to learn of his passing.
- September 2016 – Dark Legacy of Wixom seems to be MIA, if they’re still continuing their Haunted Houses Metro Detroit, please let us know! RIP Dark Legacy 2016.
- October 2016 – RIP Erwin Orchards Haunts! “We will no longer be having our Haunted Attractions. We want to thank all of our loyal customers who patronized our haunts for the past 38 years.” – per Erwin Orchards Website 2016.
- Per Realm of Darkness website September 2017 – “Thank you for the last 42 years of screaming good times”
- October 2017 – The closing of Gibralter Trade Center looks like the end for Fear Factory. Its website is parked for now.
- October 2017 – Deadland Haunted House looks to not be operating for 2017 per their functional but not updated website
- October 2017 – Lavin’s Flower Land Haunted Nursery opened up out of the blue in 2016 after a long layoff but it looks to not be operating for 2017.
- October 2018 – Clio Manner doesn’t appear to operational for 2018 and their facebook page has gone silent.
- October 2018 – Saint Lucifer’s Haunted Asylum and Prison Break will not be open for the 2018 season. “We are in the process of moving to a new location. We will be back open in 2019!” But, as of 2020 there have no announcements to reopen
- September 2019 – The Crypt at Chemco in Burton (Flint Area) is closing for 2019 with no plans to reopen.
- September 2019 – Saint Lucifer’s Haunted Asylum is still not re-reopening despite claims in 2018 that they would for 2019. Hopefully they return for 2020.
- August 2022 – The Haunted Farm of Terror in Lennox seems to have gone missing since 2019.
- August 2022 – Slaughtered at Sundown in Armada enjoyed successful hayrides and a haunted house for decades but now seem to partnering with Canterbury Village on Phryte Village in Lake Orion.
- August 2023 – Birmingham’s Emagine Theatre has retired Ghosts on the Balcony for at least 2023. Perhaps it will return.
- August 2023 – Canterbury Village’s Phryte Village, cancelled for 2022, looks like it has now been permanently put to pasture due to staffing issue for 2022 & 2023.
- August 2024 – The Rochester Jaycees Tunnel of Terror is no longer. Per sources, The Rochester Jaycees mismanaged and gave up on the haunted attraction after Covid and never returned. Per facebook in 2024, the Jaycees “parted with the trailers”.
- August 2024 – Haunted Detroit Tours did haunted bus tours of Detroit & Metro Detroit through 2021. Website used to be active… but alas, no events.
- September 2024 – Ghostly Grove in Pinckney has been closed per the Ghostly Grove fb page.
- September 2024 – The very popular Exit 13 Haunted House near Flint announced their “final season” in 2023 and true to their word… will not be open for 2024 (despite some fb page teases). Maybe they’ll return one day? Like we say, it was a very popular haunted attraction.
