During the Detroit Zoo shutdown over Coronavirus, the social media department is doing a fantastic job with the Detroit Zoo Facebook page. Staff is constantly updating their feed with live exhibit cams, educational tour videos of the animal exhibits, animal trivia, and interpative craft videos. The Zoo has always done a tremendous job promoting via social media, but with “social distancing” measures in place, they’ve really kicked up the effort. If only the Detroit Zoo website offered exhibit web cams…

I’ve been following the Detroit Zoo facebook page for a couple of weeks and find myself amazed at the amount of daily new content that’s often educational and always entertaining.

Educators – Don’t forget the Detroit Zoo offers field trips that include grade appropriate learning labs which allow students to explore science, education, and zoo career paths. We can’t wait until our social distancing days are over so we can all enjoy the Zoo again.
