West Bloomfield Winter Solstice Celebration at Recreation Activities Center – Celebrate the most magical and darkest night of the year and the slow return of the sun. Come learn about nature in winter as you explore the half mile lantern lit trail. Enjoy a glowing craft, view the night sky with telescopes, photo ops, cocoa and marshmallows by the fire and more. Per Oakland Twp Parks and Rec: Oakland Township’s Winter Carnival on January 27 has been cancelled due to poor field conditions. The Bear Creek Nature Park field is currently waterlogged and slushy as a result of the warming weather, snow melt, and rain.
