Oakland County Thai Food Restaurants
Birmingham Thai Food Restaurants
Sy Thai Cafe
(315 Hamilton Row, Birmingham, MI 48009, 248-258-9830)
The Sy Thai menu serves up all the traditional Thai entrees like the noodle dishes (Pad Thai, Pad Se’ew, Drunken Noodles), fried rice, curry dishes, Pad Prik, Pad Pak and more. There are even some interesting dishes that I haven’t seen elsewhere like the basil fried rice or the Sy’s fried rice (Thai style fried rice seasoned with curry powder and stir fried with tomato, pineapple, cashews, peas, carrots, onion, green onion and egg) (Full Review – Pics)
Clarkston Thai Food Restaurants
(6405 Sashabaw Rd, Clarkston, MI 48346, 248-625-8863)
East Ocean is more of Chinese restaurant that serves sushi and, yes, SOME Thai. Though not a lot of Thai options on the menu, what I sampled was very fresh and tasty. Side note – the drinks at East Ocean are lethally delicious! (Full Review – Pics)
Lake Orion Thai Food Restaurants
(3763 S Baldwin Rd, Lake Orion, MI 48359, 248-393-3979, Thai-Fix.com)
Clean, modern, and some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had (right up their with Sunrise Thai). Great atmosphere and SUPER allergy-friendly. Too often, the “best eats” in Metro Detroit, especially with ethnic food, aren’t the best places to eat from an atmosphere standpoint. No so here. Great food AND atmosphere. (Review – Pics)
Madison Hts Thai Food Restaurants
27872 John R Rd, Madison Heights, MI 48071, 248-543-1961
Sunrise Thai (used to be called Sunny Thai) is a small dine in/carry out Thai restaurant in a shopping plaza. There are eight tables inside. The decor is dated so it appears that the take out business is more of an attraction than eating in BUT, it is some of the finest I’ve had in Oakland County. I’ll put it this way, I pass a lot of Thai Food Restaurants on my way to get Sunrise Thai! Review – Pics.
Novi Thai Food Restaurants
Novi Siam Spicy
43436 West Oaks Dr, Novi, MI 48374, 248-348-9441
Best value Thai Food in Oakland County. Tremendous portion sizes for the price and… yes the food tastes great! The Pad Thai at Siam Spicy even comes with tofu automatically as part of the recipe, in addition to the protein you choose. Siam Spicy uses chili peppers and aromatic herbs such as garlic, onion, basil, cilantro, ginger, kaffir lime leaves, etc. They claim that all these herbs give you the special taste, and that they are also good for your health. Clean dining room is a great dine-in option, the dining area won’t win awards for ambiance but it’s nice enough. Review – Pics.
Rochester Thai Food Restaurants / Rochester Hills Thai Food Restaurants
Pudthai and Sushi Rochester Hills
2964 Rochester Rd S, Rochester Hills, MI 48307, 248-299-6890
Pudthai and Sushi is a Thai food, Japanese cuisine and sushi restaurant located at the NW corner of Rochester and Auburn roads in Rochester Hills, Michigan in the plaza which houses Starbucks. Pudthai and Sushi is a cozy restaurant that has you wanting to eat in vs. doing the typical Thai food take out. Inside, there’s a nice little Sushi bar, some booths, a flat screen TV, and a mini goldfish pond at the entrance. Review – Pics.
Sukhothai Rochester Hills
54 West Auburn Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48307, 248-844-4800
Sukothai Thai food restaurant is located in Rochester Hills at the corner of Auburn and Rochester roads. The food is definitely comparable to some of my favorites. It was just as fresh and tasty, and the quantity and pricing were about the same. they have great drink specials (including margaritas and long island iced teas!). Sukothai is decorated nicely in its cultural decor, making the dining in experience an attractive option as well. They also have an outdoor patio for the warmer weather days. Review – Pics.
Thai Inn Rochester Hills
900 S Rochester Road, Rochester Hills, Michigan, 248-656-0287
Thai Inn is located off of Rochester Road just north of Avon Road in the South Hill Plaza. This is the same plaza that also has Miguel’s Cantina. Carryout is where Thai Inn excels. They load up their containers and their entrees are relatively inexpensive. The dining area is large, but doesn’t have the most tasteful decor. Review.
Royal Oak Thai Food Restaurants
Shinthai Thai Food Royal Oak
736 S Washington Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48067, 248-268-1800
Order at the counter Thai food with many menu options. Cozy, modern motif. The portions are plentiful, food is fresh, and the spice levels were spot on. Soup of the day (e.g. egg drop soup) is served with every order and hardly any wait time on the food (and I go when it’s busy). Review – Pics.
Troy Thai Food Restaurants
Thai Taste Troy
5063 Livernois Rd, Troy, MI 48098, 248-813-0900
Thai Taste is located in Troy, Michigan in a plaza off Livernois at Long Lake. I thought the Pad Thai was ok. It wasn’t great and it wasn’t bad. I preferred it to some that I’ve tried, but it didn’t compare to Sukothai in Rochester Hills or Bangkok Crossing in Lake Orion. Portion sizes are less than average than most other Oakland County Thai Food Restaurants. Review – Pics.

7108 Highland Road, Waterford Twp, MI 48327, 248-886-8850, 248-886-8851
Full Thai food menu that includes fried rice dishes, noodle dishes, and specials like Gang Gai, Thai Pepper Steak, Pad Khing, Pad Prik and more. Thai Legend has reasonable prices and lunch and dinner portions. You can choose from chicken, pork, beef, tofu, or vegetables to go with your dish; shrimp is also an option for a little bit more. Mostly a carryout option, though they do have a small sit-down dining area. Thai Legend also serves Chinese food, but with fewer entree options than the Thai selections. Review – Pics.
Wixom Thai Food Restaurants
47516 West Pontiac Trail, Wixom, MI 48393, 248-960-8840
Strip mall Thai food that is GREAT for take-out (great food/huge portions) but doesn’t cut it as a sit-down restaurant. Tremendous variety of traditional and unique Thai food dishes. Simply Thai is great if you like spicy food – the spice levels are off the charts. Review – Pics.
