FREE Splash Pads in Oakland County – Reviews, pics, and 2024 info. Beat the heat this summer for FREE. Splash pads and spray parks that offer FREE admission. Waterparks and Sprayparks can be expensive but there are plenty of places to cool off for free.

Some of these splash pads are decidedly no frills (but get the job done). Others are almost or just as fun as their pay spray park counterparts. All of these Oakland County splash pads are in parks with newer playgrounds & playscapes to add to the fun. You can even pack a lunch for a summer picnic and make a day of it.

FREE AUBURN HILLS SPLASH PAD / Oakland County Splash Pads

Splash Pad at Riverside Park (3311 Squirrel Ct, Auburn Hills, MI 48326, 248-370-9353, auburnhills.org)
Recently-built splash pad at Riverside Park located in Downtown Auburn Hills. Not a lot of bells and whistles to this small splash pad but it gets the job done and Riverside Park is a fabulous location. The pad is FREE for residents and non-residents. Review – Pics – Video

FREE BERKLEY SPLASH PAD / Oakland County Spray Parks

Berkley Splash Pad at Oxford Park (2100 Bacon, Berkley, MI 48072, www.berkleymich.org)
The no-frills (“natural”) almost 1600 sq foot splash pad is FREE to use.  The splash pad area is connected via cement walkways to neighborhood sidewalks and Oxford Park’s new, modern playground. Review – Pics

FREE FARMINGTON HILLS SPLASH PAD

Splash Pad at Heritage Park (24725 Farmington Road, Farmington Hills, MI, 248-536-5617, fhgov.com)
Heritage Park has a large splash pad at the north end of the park near the north shelter / picnic area and playground. Kids are free to run through splash pad when the weather is warm enough. Entry to Heritage Park is FREE and so is the Splash Pad! There is even a nearby “Snack Shack” concession stand with treats for purchase when the “weather permitting” splash pad is open. Review…Pics

FREE FERNDALE SPLASH PAD

Ferndale Splash Pad at Martin Road Park (1615 E Lewiston, Ferndale, MI, 248-544-6767 ext 4, ferndalemi.gov)
Located at Martin Park (south of 9 mile and west of Hilton area). FREE for residents and non-residents and open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Capacity is 280. The water at this splash pad is treated (with chlorine) and recirculated. Features include a few sprayers and a large spinning water bucket.

Now with extended hours and FREE for the first time! The KLR splash pad has geysers, water buckets, water guns, and more. Best of all… It’s enclosed (no lost kids), and very close to restrooms and THE FANTASTIC Kids Kingdom Playground. You can make a day out a visit to KLR Splash pad. FREE ROCHESTER HILLS SPLASH PAD / FREE Splash Pads in Oakland County

Rochester Hills Splash Pad / Brooklands Plaza (Emmons Rd & Auburn Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48307)
The RH Splash Pad aka Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad is part of the Auburn Road Project, the 6-mile corridor of Auburn Rd through the City of Rochester Hills. It’s not the biggest splash pad in the county, but it’s modern and nice (and admission is FREE). There are plenty of picnic tables and shade areas very close to the pad so it’s easy to keep an eye on the kids. Review – Pics.

Update 6/16/24 – The Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad has been closed until further notice per the City of Rochester Hills

FREE ROYAL OAK SPLASH PAD / FREE Splash Pads in Oakland County

Normandy Oaks Splash Pad (4234 Delemere Blvd, Royal Oak, MI 48067, www.romi.gov)
Operated by the City of Royal Oak and Oakland County Parks. Normandy Park includes a splash pad, large playground, pavilion, sledding hill, trails, nature area, turf soccer fields, and more. Admission to the splash pad is FREE. As far as the FREE local splash pads are concerned, this one has the most features… including a giant water bucket! Another huge perk… the splash area is enclosed.  Review – Pics.

Spray n Play Splash Pad and Adventure Park at Indian Springs Metropark (5200 Indian Trail, White Lake, MI 48386, 248-625-6640, www.metroparks.com)
Spray n Play is open daily Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends and is an extension of the large Adventure Playground. Featuring spray cannons, a hill slide, water buckets, and sprayers… Spray and Play is a fun way to cool off when enjoying the rest of Adventure playground.
