Jurassic World LIVE took arenas by storm in 2019. Think of Jurassic Quest as the Drive-Thru version!. The Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru is the only place to encounter some of the largest dinosaurs to ever roam the earth, and some of the eeriest marine creatures to ever lurk the ocean’s depths, from the safety of your family vehicle. Tickets (starting at $49 plus fees per one standard passenger car or SUV) for the hour-long ride must be purchased online in advance. Grosse Pointe Shores Weekend Events – Ford House Grounds and Gardens Now Open
Ford House (1100 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan 48236, 313-884-4222, FordHouse.org)
Ford House is reopening its historic grounds and gardens to the general public starting Tuesday, July 7. Timed tickets are required and must be purchased in advance. All visitors must register in advance for a timed entry ticket. Tickets are $5 for the general public, and member admission is still free, but tickets are required for admittance. Visitors are also required to practice social distancing and keep a face mask with them at all times while on the estate. All historical buildings, including the Visitor Center and Museum Store, are closed, and house tours are suspended at this time. A 40-minute sensory experience that takes place throughout a 1/2 mile outdoor walking path. 10+ sensory installations that will inspire & delight. The content is a blend of programmed and interactive light, projection, and display technologies that help bring the trails and its new inhabitants to life! A family-friendly, socially-distant outdoor experience. The entire event takes around 45 minutes, depending on your speed of walking. Masks are required to participate. During this family-friendly hour, enjoy a story and learn about one of nature’s treasures. The program takes place outside in order to fully experience nature, so be sure to bring a blanket. At the end of the program, you may choose to make a craft at the nature center, or take it home to make on your own. Either way, don’t miss this wonderful peek into the great outdoors. Volunteers will participate in activities such as removing invasive plants, collecting seeds, planting native wildflowers, and helping to maintain the trails and the Nature Center building. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Program check-in will be at the picnic table gathering area in front of the Nature Center and temperature checks and screening questions will be required upon arrival. Volunteer Days will take place entirely outdoors, so please dress for the weather. While outdoors, six-foot distancing will be enforced and masks are encouraged.
